Just a quick story about our exciting return to Boston:
...After a long day of traveling from New Orleans to Boston, we finally landed in Boston. Now, Nanny and Papa had been nice enough to park at the airport so that we could just pick the car up and drive ourselves home. Easy peasy. No dealing with the train or the bus or anything.
Well, we made our way to the parking garage and found the car...displaying a nice $200 ticket. The car was in a handicap spot. After much discussion about how ridiculous the ticket was, how horribly marked the spot was (I mean, geez, there was only this tiny sign way up at the ceiling that you could hardly read), and how all the other handicap spots had giant blue wheelchair signs on the ground, we decide that we need to take a picture of this injustice. (see photo above)
Joe snaps the shot and hops in the car. If you know Joe, you can already picture how flustered he was after a day of travel and the fun surprise ticket. Well his day was about to go from bad to worse. As I'm standing next to the car with the front passenger door open, Joe starts the car (which, unbeknownst to him, is already in 1st gear). The car leaps forward and smashes into the giant truck in front of us. I let out a nice scream and Joe let out a few choice words.
The best part was that as I stood next to the car after all this happened, this guy walked right past us to his car, which was pretty much right next to ours. He was looking at me with this face like what the h is wrong with you. Trying to act like nothing was wrong, I put this big dumb grin on my face and said, "Oh, Hello!" It was hilarious-I would love to know what that man was thinking.
Well, we eventually check everything out and, luckily, there was no damage to the truck in front of us. Dr. Bruce's front grill was mashed in, but we could fix that. So we pull out and....yup - there's a giant blue handicap sign on the ground.
It was icing on the cake! Needless to say, it was a fun drive home with JB. Welcome home!
oooo bad day sorry about that becca. was leah there?
