One Month Old
It's hard to think that an entire month has gone by since Leah was born (even though there have been a couple days - and nights - that felt like they'd never end). Leah is a whole 9 lbs. and 12 oz. now and is measuring at 21 inches long. She has now met two of her cousins, seven of her aunts and uncles, and both sets of grandparents. She is also now a baptized Catholic baby - whoohoo!
She now (thank goodness) really enjoys having her diaper changed, but hates getting dressed. She still gets the hiccups all the time.
Here are a few recent pictures. She's still a tiny baby, but she sure has grown.

Leah's Baptism
Hurray, Leah got baptized!
On November 28th at St. Anthony Church in Cohassett, our little Leah was welcomed into the Catholic Church. We were so happy to be able to have family, friends, and even the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Boston, Very Reverend Richard M. Erikson, in attendance.
Leah was terrific and sat quietly through the entire Baptism. I, on the other hand, teared up on more than one occasion as Fr. Erikson talked about Leah and how she will grow in her faith and in the church - from Baptism to First Holy Communion to Confimation and so on.
God Bless our Leah Regina. I hope she doesn't grow up too too fast.

Aren't Babies Supposed to Love Baths?
Well, that's what I thought.
Unfortunately (and much to her father's disappointment) Leah hates baths. Her entire little body tenses up and, unless Joe's finger is in her mouth, she screams bloody murder. I'm not sure whether it is because she just doesn't like them or if it's due to the fact that the room she has her baths in has been freezing cold so that any part of her body that is not under the warm water is undoubtedly in pain. Poor baby. We'll try turning on the heat in the room for her next bath (we really aren't cruel parents, I swear).
Joe popped his finger out of her mouth and I was able to snap this photo before she started crying again...

I'm hoping that she will grow to love baths, but even more so, I am hoping that she will learn to love water in general so that she can thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the beach and the ocean like all her older cousins. I guess we will see.
