Visiting Boston:

Leah and I flew to Boston the weekend before Christmas for a visit with Nanny and Papa and a wedding with UD friends (Congrats Teddy and Caitlyn!) We even got to catch a quick visit with Steve, Cindy, Abby and Jon, Katie and Fiona!

It was nice to be back in Scituate AND to see a bit of snow near Christmas-time.

Unfortunately, my camera was out of commission for the wedding weekend (BUMMER!), but I did manage to snap a few pictures of our time at the Bird house:

Cuddly girls in the morning!

Aunt Meg

Leah loves Aunt Meg.

Can't wait for you to get back to Dallas.

Play date with cousins!

This past Tuesday, Genny & Maggie and Katie & Fiona came over for a little visit. I think the girls had a wonderful time, although they probably payed more attention to the toys than they did to each other! It sure is wonderful to live close to all these friends and relatives!

I'm sure these nice little visits will soon become the norm and there will be too many of them to blog about each time, but right now they sure feel special!

Happy St. Nick's Day!

As usual, we left out our shoes for St. Nick and he left us some pretty yummy treats.

This was her face when she noticed the gold chocolate coins that St. Nick left!

Talkin' on the phone

This is one of Leah's favorite things to pretend and I must say, she's pretty good at it.

Road Trip

Well, I am almost caught up!

On November 11th, we got up nice and early and drove ourselves south to our new home - Texas.
All in all, the drive went well. It was long, but we made good time and Leah was a trooper.

This is how we all felt...

Kinda cramped, but pretty excited.

Baby Maureen Dolores

We were so lucky to be able to visit with Joe, Katharine and Baby Maureen in early November. The moment I saw Maureen, Leah suddenly turned into a giant.

Maureen is just beautiful and Leah loved meeting her newest cousin. We miss you Joe, Katharine and Maureen!

Uncle Joe is so goofy:

Happy Fall!

Visiting Minnestoa and Wisconsin

At the end of October, Joe, Leah and I flew to Wisconsin and drove up to Minnesota with my parents and sisters for a visit with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Guggemos (and the other Guggemos' too!). It was a fantastic weekend of family fun. Uncle Steve, Aunt Chrissy, Chiara, Uncle Pete, Aunt Anne and Phil were all there, too. I was having too much fun to remember to take any pictures, so I just have a very few:

Leah and Chiara loved Great Grandma Helen's piano:

On Halloween (her 1st Halloween!), Leah dressed up in her Ladybug costume:

Some highlights from the weekend in Winsted were:
-Watching Leah climb up onto Great Grandpa Don's cozy lap.
-Showing Joe the workshop.
-Watching Joe finally pull up in the canoe after I thought he had gotten lost on the Lake.
-Friday night at the Blue Note!
-Getting to be in charge while my parent's were out...Grandma wasn't allowed to be in charge!
-The delicious German meal on Saturday.
-Just being in Winsted at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Can't wait to see all of you again!

October: Playing with Nanny and Papa

Leah could not get enough of this game: Find Papa and run run run away to Nanny. Endless giggles!

We can't wait to see you next week!!

October: Visiting Dallas

We had a very productive and very fun week in Dallas celebrating Joe's birthday, searching for apartments, looking at houses, and nailing job interviews (yay Joe!).

Leah had her first visit to the UD campus to see Aunt Meg. Some UD-appropriate photos were taken: (frisbees, guitars, UD tower, etc...)

This is what Leah and Fiona did one morning:

There was lots of web browsing that weekend:

Joe's Birthday present (a big hit):

Thank you, Jon and Katie, for hosting us!! We are so happy to live near you now!

October: The Beach

We will certainly miss these impromptu walks on the beach. Just spectacular!
